Skald rugs from Rug city are a collection of simple shades of grey, white, silver and ivory coloured rugs which follow a very elegant plain design to bring out the most in any room. They are embossed with Nordic design element and also coupled with North African Moroccan tribal style of traditional weaving. With their simple geometric patterns that give light to a morelustrous array of beautiful and soft patterns so when walking on these will make you have a refreshing and calming sensation to the underfoot, tosay the least. These luxurious lustre rugs also offer a plethora of comfort and beautiful elements.

Skald is an old Scandinavia word used to describe someone who recites poem honouring war hero, Skald rugs are a subtle representation of that charm and glimmer that follows suites within these poems. These rugs are made up of a combination of 52% polyester and 48% pp heatsetmaking them extremely soft, warm and giving them cuddly feel to the touch. The heatsetmakes these rugs stain resistant and also prone to the average wear, tear that can occur, so you don’t have to worry about maintenance, in turn, providing another level of comfort and durability to an already looks luxurious and simple looking rug.

Caring for your rug
We recommend routine care and cleaning to keep your rug looking as new and lasting longer. Below we have provided a brief outline on how to clean and manage stains and spillages.
Generally we recommend to vacuum your rug gently on a weekly basis to remove any surface dirt and dust. Avoid vacuuming tassels or fringes as this could cause permanent damage. Rotate your rug frequently to avoid any bleaching from prolonged sun exposure.

Shaggy Rugs:
When vacuuming shaggy pile rugs we recommend using a small nozzle attachment on your vacuum to prevent damaging the pile.

Wool Rugs:
A common characteristic of wool rugs is shedding, this is when the fibres come away from the rug. This is a natural and common feature of wool rugs, not a manufacturing fault. Gentle, regular vacuuming will take care of this and ensure your wool rug will last longer. Extra care should be taken when looking after your wool rug, spillages should be cleaned immediately (see below) and avoid over wetting when cleaning.

Spillages and Stains:
1. Spillages should be attended to immediately. Use an absorbent clean cloth to soak up the liquid.
2. Apply luke warm water to the area and blot (don't rub) with a clean cloth until the stain is removed. Avoid over wetting of the area as this can cause permanent damage. This process may need to be repeated several times to remove the stain.
3. For solid stains such as chewing gum or wax remove this first then repeat step 2.
A mild soap or detergent can be used to remove difficult stains, but this should be tested on a inconspicuous area first.
